Gimme just a little more time! (But buy your tickets today!)

Beach-music legends Chairmen of the Board ride the wave into The Handlebar for
their first concert here, showcasing the high, trembling vocals of General Johnson,
whose stuttering No. 3 smash, "Give Me Just A Little More Time" made the
Chairmen one of the smoothest and most popular soul acts to emerge from Detroit
in the early '70s. Two other singles, "(You've Got Me) Dangling on a String" and
"Everything's Tuesday," established them as R&B chart contenders, then "Pay to
the Piper" reached No. 13 on the pop chart, and songs like "Chairman of the
Board" (1971) and "Finder's Keepers" (1973) made the Top Ten. General
Johnson's songs also became hits for Clarence Carter ("Patches"), Freda Payne
("Bring the Boys Home") and Honey Cone, who had no less than three hits —
"Want Ads," "Stick Up," "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show." As staples of the
Carolina beach music scene, the Chairmen are top seed, so don't wait to buy your
tickets!
